1947's burger experience is comprised with a several very strong flavors. I ordered the Bourbon Glaze Burger, which came topped with a maple bourbon reduction & aged cheddar. The cheddar was delicious, very strong, but overpowered the overall flavor of the burger. The Bourbon glaze was also very strong, but inconsistent from bite to bite. I wonder if they wouldn’t be better served working the Bourbon directly into the ground beef, as opposed to topping the finished product, as this might create more consistency and stability. The burger was served slightly under cooked, which I didn’t mind at all, because it really brought out some delicious flavors from the beef itself. All in all, this was a delicious burger with great unique flavors, and I wouldn’t hesitate to order it again next time I am at 1947. I do think that this burger recipe is still maturing, and I anticipated once it has the opportunity to be refined, we are in for a real treat. |
