My quest for the best burger in the City of Pittsburgh took me to BRGR... Pictured left is the "Fire in the Hole Burger." It is served with guacamole, jalapenos, pepper jack cheese, and chipotle mayo for a price of $9.00. I ordered the burger rare, with the mayo on the side. All the burgers at BRGR are served ala carte, so I ordered two baskets of fries for our table of four, which was plenty. We also shared the fried pickles for an appetizer, and everyone at the table enjoyed the frier induced crunch that complimented the pickles' natural crispness. I enjoyed my spicy burger with a bottle of Chinook IPA: very strong, very delicious for the occasion. We sat in the upstairs outdoor patio and enjoyed the wonderful East-Liberty Pittsburgh atmosphere. |
| The burger was delicious. It was served as ordered (rare), and the beef was of good quality and consistency. Unfortantely, by the time it was brought to my table, the Burger was nearly room temperature. This was a minor inconveinence, and because the flavor was so enjoyable it didn't detract from the overall burger experience. Although the pepper jack cheese did nothing to add or subtract to the flavor of the burger, the guacamole and jalapenos played nicely together to create a well-textured and delicious spicy flavor. I kept the chipotle mayo off the burger, and used it as a dipping sauce for the fries. Overall, the burger was delicious, and I would highly recommend a trip to BRGR for a great meal. |  |
