My quest for the best burger in the City of Pittsburgh took me to Mario's East Side Saloon...
I have to start by saying that I love Mario's East Side Saloon. The upstairs outdoor deck is second to none, I have spent several beautiful afternoons enjoying the breeze, lounging, drinking, and eating great food. If you are looking for a great place to hang out with friends and relax, Mario's is the place to be. That is why I was so incredably dissapointed with the burger that I received. I wanted so baddly to give it a high score, but my hand was forced. I hope that it was just an off night for the chef, and there is some perfectly reasonable explanation for my terrible burger. But this burger rating business is a objective, and althought it may be harsh, or conflict with what I want the score to be, I have to be honest.

I ordered the Cuban Burger, medium rare. Unfortunately what I got was balled up burnt meat. The flavor of the over cooked meat ruined the whole experience. The bun, the cheese, the pickles, I could not enjoy any of them, because all i could taste was the flavor of charcol. The meat was crunchy and smelled un-appealing. Based on my experience with this burger, I would not order another one ever.
The fries were delicous and the $2 blue moon drafts helped to ease the pain of a terrible burger. |

There is your proof. Dispite being ordered medium rare, this burger is burned all the way through. It is truely a bitter moment, I love Mario's, but this burger was excrutiatingly inedable. |
